i take pride in my independence and my inability to become emotionally involved. i prefer to have complete control of my emotions fueling my fear of commitment. i shut down emotionally whenever someone becomes "too close" in fear of hurting or being hurt. i'm easily threatened when someone chooses to invest in me emotionally. "i" becoming "we" frustrates me and makes me uncomfortable. i'm constantly at war with my feelings. past experiences have forced me to handle situations with caution. i've missed on the joys of being in love and being loved, becausei'm afraid. my fear hinders me from fully participating and being an active partner in relationships. i can easily forgive but i rarely forget (no matter how hard i try).
